Amazing location, friendly staff.

Position excellent.

Our only comment would be wait for food when ordered from the a la carte menu or room service. Buffet is obviously instant and hot beverages came quickly with breakfast. But if ordering off a menu, the food took a long time to arrive (talking an hour!) Spa needs updating. Also better signage. Otherwise lovely.

very nice for 2-3 nights break!

beautiful hotel, wonderful pool, great rooms. pool barman was exceptional! nice calm beach. loved it all!

dinners and service to be improved. overpriced in comparisson to other hotels next. a lot of extremely impolite russian tourists during our visit which made our stay uncomfortable (not hotel fault of course, but some issues were related to hotel staff as well).

Great stay!

Location! And the set up of the resort is spacious and very nicely done. But they should organize beach clean up around the hotel. The plastic waste is a big problem.

They still give plastic drinking water bottles. Please provide glass bottles and refill to prevent more plastic waste.

Beautiful but very quiet

The resort was beautiful and we had a fantastic room upgrade that was beside the pool with great views. Everyone at the resort were top class and couldn't have been more helpful.

We were there in March and were told it was off season. So most of the restaurants and bars were closed and we were limited to one temporary eating area. There were very few other people at the resort, less than 10, so the resort was pretty dead after 8pm. Would like to go again when its fully open

Overall we liked the place and the staff. We did not face any problem during our stay.

Garden and the pool

A la care menu.. I was disappointed with the see food grill it was too much grilled and there was nothing to eat and no crab cutter provided. It’s not worth for the money.

Great setting, outline and design of the resort in nature, great large pool, fantastic beach with the best swimming in ocean we had on this 15 days trip Friendly staff, privacy, great place to relax by the ocean Ocean view, decent room size Deep sea fishing

Beautiful facilities and good food.

The hotel does everything they can to rip you off. When you arrive they will add a good 20% to the price represented by booking.com for your room. At the end they will give you a bogus exchange rate to make sure they rip you off another 15%. Very disappointed in the honesty of hotel.

Beautiful facilities, good food, bad integrity.

Beautiful property and great room.

The hotel does its absolute best to rip you off at every turn. The prices they charge you are not what is represented by booking.com. They charged us 10-20% more for our whole party’s rooms on arrival. After waiting 1 hour at check out they gave us a bogus exchange rate that multiplied the price even more. They gave us 198LKR to USD exchange rate when the normal and live exchange rate was 226LKR to USD. They refused to change it. Very disappointed in the integrity of this hotel. If you actually have a budget I would not recommend. They will make sure they charge you 30% more than the advertised price by the end of your stay.

Staff were extremely attentive.

Staff were extremely attentive. Plenty of smiles. Facilities were great. Food was good.

Not much we didn't like, but perhaps a more extensive ala carte menu would have saved us getting a little bored! Really a first world problem. Staff were excellent at greeting me (a male) and less so my wife...but I think this is cultural.

The resort is lovely, the beach and swimming pool area are beautiful. It’s an amazing place to spend a few days and really relax.

The music at the pool bar - same music every day and didn’t fit with the relaxing vibe the rest of the resort had!

Fantastic stay at Anantaya Resort, I strongly recommend!

The room was spatious, clean and well decorated. The food buffet was really tasty and it was a real delight for us. The beach was super clean and the water was hot!

Kind staff always at your service

Staff is incredibly kind and the room is wonderfully designed and very clean. The pool is cleaned round the clock as well as the beach. Having seen the neighboring accommodations this one stands way above the rest. Half-board is plenty enough food and you get a lot of local food now too (following past negative reviews I guess - seems like they listen to feedback constructively).

We didn't mind it so much but there are many crows in the area and they can get loud (this would apply to any hotel). In our case we also had a large group of people which were noisy late in the night - the house didn't seem to do anything about it - we weren't happy about it.

Ranga was an absolute GEM! He made our stay a complete turnaround!!

Ranga has noticed we had a terrible start to our stay here and done his very best to reassure us. He went out of his way above and beyond. On my birthday he made the most beautiful setting for our dinner with his waitering team! This man is a credit and without him our experience would never of been the same! We hope you are applauded for your top hospitality! Great man! Should be the general manager!

Exceptional hotel at the east coast

Stayed in the private pool suite. The room was excellent and the private pool was surprisingly big. The garden outside the room was also a lot bigger than expected. Strongly recommended. The hotel itself was very clean and the all of the staff were very friendly. We also got a tour of one of the villas (really big and private) and the kitchen. The kitchen was really clean and well run. We also had a special request of gluten free food and the staff arranged some options nicely. The beach was beautiful and private.

As we were visiting at the low season, all of the facilities were not in use. The second restaurant and the wine cellar were not open at all.

It was amazing

Staff are extremly kind and helpful. Rooms are clean and our room had direct access to the pool which we loved. And if you traveling with kids this makes it easy to watch over them from the room. Food was very nice and my whole experiance was amazing. I woukd definitely consider it shoukd I go back to Sri Lanka. The only down side is the time you spend on the road to reach to the hotel. Almost 6 hours drive.
